All his GI tract biopsy results were normal. His bone marrow biopsy is still a mixed bag. It showed that he was making red cells in the marrow, but not white cells. No one understands why at this point. There are a variety of reasons why this happens and we are reviewing these with his doctor on an ongoing basis. This news means the sores in his mouth will most likely not be able to heal until his white cell production improves. Thankfully he is eating currently.
We kind of have to wait, watch, and see what happens. His bone marrow also demonstrates that he had evidence of osteoclasts and his chimerism (which may not be accurate) showed 7% donor cells. So we'll take these clues and carry on, day by day.
