No, but really we enjoyed a very simple 2nd birthday celebration with Kelptyn on Saturday. We were surrounded by loving hands that have cared so much for him over the past several months and one of his favorite nurses even stopped by to visit him on her day off. We are so blessed that our Happy Star has celebrated not one, but two birthdays now. It's a reminder of how far he has come and how far he has yet to go at the same time. I'm sure his next year of life will be nothing shy of an adventure.
Last week's chimerism shows, 50% donor Tcells and 2% donor Mcells. He is currently showing us no obvious signs of ICP (intercranial pressure), so we are currently thinking that his 4th shunt revision somehow relieved him of his ICP. We keep hoping/praying that his donor cells continue to grow and hopefully stabilize. Doctors want to monitor Kelptyn overnight tonight due to a medication error early this morning and then we will most likely be going home tomorrow afternoon. We are very grateful and thankful every time we get to take Kelptyn home.
Thank you to everyone that sent Kelptyn cards, messages, and birthday well wishes. We continue to be deeply touched by the love and support of SO many.
