Below are two photos of our Happy Star and Fighter, pre-and-post surgery.
Thank you to everyone for the continued prayers and support. It seems like our rock bottom keeps slipping out from under us. It's two steps forward, one step back. Kelptyn's surgery went well yesterday, doctors say he should be pretty swollen/ eyes shut for a couple days and we won't know his visual potential for several months. Doctors did say that he won't be able to smell because of how all the bone crowded around his nerves. We are working with a team of doctors and nurses to manage all his different layers of care and his pain. We were blessed with some amazing nurses last night, Janet and Deb, who have treated him with loving care. We can't thank them enough. It seems like just when you think your heart can't break into any smaller pieces someone helps pick up a piece for you and that's what the nurses did for us last night/this morning.

Oh poor guy. Does that mean his smell won't return?

He is such a fighter and incredibly resilient. Thank you, Lord for the caregivers. We pray for strength for Matt and Sarah as we continue to pray for Kelptyn Jack.

Sarah sending all my love and hugs to you. This is so unfair that your sweet boy has to endure this kind of pain. But from what we experienced with Lucy, which in no way compares with the heartache you are going through, it does get better. It has been 6 months since Lucy has been home something I never thought would be possible. Kelptyn has been in our daily prayers, even the kids pray for him at night. This is our prayer at night, dear God, keep sweet kelptyn in your heart. Grant the Graham's peace. Wrap your loving arms around them as they are faced with this life test. Show them strength and give them hope. Xoxo
