They thought originally they'd be able to send us home for a bit after his shunt revision last Tuesday, but last night after Kelptyn threw up (probably from his medicine) we tried to give him anti-nausea meds and discovered his PICC to have a malfunction. So last night he got another IV put in for his night time meds and today his PICC was repaired. That's twice his PICC has been repaired so now we are scheduled for the OR this coming Friday afternoon to have a central line and a G-tube put in. These will carry his tiny body through the BMT process and supply him with adequate nutrition, medicine, and bone marrow we hope. So it looks like we may just hang out in the hospital for awhile longer, who knows maybe through the BMT process. We hope to have an official timeline to transplant in our hands by the close of this week.
Since KJ's started his chemo drugs his risk to infection has risen so now he has to wear these masks when he leaves our room at the hospital. We are officially limiting visitors, but we are not completely through the gate yet.
