So Kelptyn woke up this morning and had himself a good poop (this was considered the treat for the day), then after breakfast this morning he violently threw up. Mommy had to change her clothes three times and Daddy came home from work to go to the hospital clinic with us. Kelptyn attended his morning clinic appointment with blood labs and as it turned out he needed another tranfusion. That's happening now...transfusions take about 4 hours to complete on a tike as small as him. In the mean time our Hematology doctor paged our Neurology doctors (who Mom spoke to just last Friday about KJ's shunt and CT scans) since Kelptyn threw up so much this morning (a sign of shunt malfunction). So now we will be admitted back in to the hospital again as soon as his transfusion is complete so that they can check his shunt again with a CT scan and if necessary he might be going to surgery again tomorrow for a shunt revision. So it looks like the trick is definitely on us and maybe just maybe we'll be spending all the holidays in the hospital this year. BOO! Seriously, BOO!
Definitely, a TRICK!!!

Oh bummer! You guys are always so positive in the middle of all the craziness. Wish I could do something for you to help, besides praying that is. Love to you all, Mare

I am in awe of you, Matthew and, of course, Kelptyn. Keeping you all close in my prayers.

What an incredible team you make. Kelptyn is lucky to have such special parents... you continue to amaze us all! NOT the way you wanted to spend Halloween, I know, but hopefully the doctors were able to help your little guy. I think of you all often and send positive thoughts your way. Hugs, Lisa

I just found out about your precious little one. You really don't know how precious life is until you are faced with such a fight. We will pray for wisdom for your doctors and continued strength for your family. I will let our family and the neighbors know so they will also keep you in prayer. Janet Clark

I am so glad to get an update from your precious Kelptyn. You are amazing parents as he is such a fighter. I have a niece who is hospitalized with a serious disease as well. She is 19 and at 18 mos of age they told us as a family should would not live long. Kelptyn and my niece Kayley are born with a fighter instinct in them. Praising God everyday for your strength and for Kelptyn's fight. Thanks for sharing your life with all of us who care.
